You can check whether users can view, edit, or be blocked from specific records, confirm tab and page layout visibility, and ensure that permission sets behave as intended in practice. It’s practical for catching gaps that aren’t obvious from configuration alone, and you can do it in a sandbox for thorough, safe validation.

Other methods don’t provide the same end-user perspective. Auditing field metadata or reviewing active users shows configurations or who is logged in, not how those configurations translate into real access for different roles and profiles. Testing with a sample user through Login As is what gives you confidence that the sharing and visibility changes will function correctly once deployed.
